Nolvadex is effective against estrogen
Nolvadex is a trade name for the drug tamoxifen citrate. Nolvadex is a non-steroidal agent that demonstrates potent antiestrogenic properties. Nolvadex is effective against estrogen. Nolvadex is technically an estrogen agonist/antagonist, which competitively binds to estrogen receptors in various target tissues. With the tamoxifen molecule bound to this receptor, estrogen is blocked from exerting any action, and an antiestrogenic effect of Nolvadex is achieved. Since many forms of breast cancer are responsive to estrogen, the ability of Nolvadex to block its action in such cells has proven to be a very effective treatment. Nolvadex is also utilized successfully as a preventative measure, taken by people with an extremely high familial tendency for breast cancer. Nolvadex also shows the ability to increase production of FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone) in the male body. This property is accomplished by blocking negative feedback inhibition caused by estrogen at the hypothalamus and pituitary, which fosters the release of the mentioned pituitary hormones. This property of course is also the function of Clomid and cyclofenil. Since a higher release of LH can stimulate the Leydig's cells in the testes to produce more testosterone, Nolvadex can have a positive impact on one's serum testosterone level. This "testosterone stimulating" effect of Nolvadex is an added benefit when preparing to conclude a steroid cycle. Since most anabolic/androgenic steroids will suppress endogenous testosterone production, Nolvadex can help restore a balance in hormone levels. Nolvadex should be preferred over Clomid for this purpose in fact, as side by side it is clearly the stronger agent. It has also been shown to increase LH responsiveness to Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone after time, while Clomid slightly lowers this sensitivity as the drug is used for several weeks.
Nolvadex Side Effects
Side effects like hot flashes, menstrual irregularities and a variety of complications with the reproductive system are all possible.Tamoxifen may cause unwanted effects that may not occur until months or years after Nolvadex is used. Tamoxifen increases the chance of cancer of the uterus in some women taking it. Tamoxifen may cause blockages to form in a vein, lung, or brain. In addition, tamoxifen has been reported to cause cataracts and other eye problems.

Anxiety, blistering, peeling, or loosening of skin and mucous membranes, blurred vision, chest pain, confusion, cough, dizziness, fainting, fast heartbeat, lightheadedness, pain or swelling in fingers, hands and legs, shortness of breath or trouble breathing, weakness or sleepiness, yellow eyes or skin.
For females only;
Change in vaginal discharge, chills, fever, hoarseness, lower back or side pain, pain or feeling of pressure in pelvis, pain, redness, or swelling in your arm or leg, painful or difficult urination, rapid shallow breathing, skin rash or itching over the entire body, sweating, vaginal bleeding, wheezing, absent, decrease in amount of urine, feeling of warmth redness of the face, neck, arms and occasionally, upper chest, menstrual changes, nausea, vaginal bleeding, weight changes, white or brownish vaginal discharge.
The use of Nolvadex may also cause other side effects not listed above to occur. If you notice any other effects, check with your doctor.
Overdose
If overdose of tamoxifene is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Nolvadex Dosage
A typical daily dosage for men is in the range of 10 to 30mg, the chosen amount obviously dependent on the level of effect desired. It is advisable to begin with a low dosage and work up, so as to avoid taking an unnecessary amount.
